Listening under global Trumpism
This is an ongoing fieldwork and sound archive project, across multiple sites in France, the US, and the UK, to document how the resurgence of right nationalisms and an authoritarian turn within neoliberalism is leaving a trace in the soundscapes of cities in protests and other direct action, but also in apparently mundane elements of everyday life. Below are some examples from archive, including an audio and photo installation, Antifascist Silent Disco, exhibited in Stuttgart last year.
"Ni Le Pen, ni Macron": Parisian Soundscapes of Resistance (April–May 2017))
"Your Children's Futures Are On the Line": Ec(h)opolitics in Philadelphia's NoDAPL protests (2016)
"This is What Democracy Sounds Like": Marching on Trump Tower (November 2016)
Antifascist Silent Disco (2019)
